Hello, my name is Dana Michelle Brandon Woods, and I proudly serve as the current President of NHAA. I joined NHAA because I wanted to be part of an organization committed to the growth, preservation, and advancement of the North Heights Plan Area.

The North Heights community of Amarillo, Texas, has a rich and inspiring history. What was once considered undesirable land became the foundation of a thriving community through the vision and determination of Mr. Bones Hooks, who made it possible for African American families in Amarillo to build homes, establish roots, and create opportunities for future generations.

From this community emerged countless accomplished individuals who have gone on to make meaningful contributions worldwide, leaving lasting impacts on their professions, communities, and families. That legacy continues today. As we look ahead, it is important that we move forward together with purpose and vision to create a stronger future for North Heights
